08Jan10

Inspired by a presentation (http://docs.google.com/present/edit?id=0Abpo3WQGUkscZDNraHR4Zl84OGRyZGNramRk&hl=en) I participated in for The Anthropology of Masculinity during my freshman year.

Out of 68 male and 108 female respondents who had previously had sexual intercourse. In 1948, Alfred Kinsey reported in his study, Sexual Behavior in the Human Male, that up to 70% of the population had sex exclusively in the missionary position.

New Position Due to Porn:
Of 108 female respondents who had previously had sexual intercourse, 27% had tried a new sexual position because of viewing it in a pornographic film (or because a partner had viewed it) and 73% had not. Of 68 male respondents who had previously had sexual intercourse, 54% had tried a new sexual position because of viewing it in a pornographic film (or because a partner had viewed it) and 46% had not.

Porn’s Influence:
Of 107 female respondents who had previously had sexual intercourse, 25% thought that porn had influenced how they had sex, and 75% thought that it had not. Of 69 male respondents, 68% thought that porn had influenced how they had sex, and 32% thought that it had not.

Threesomes
Of 106 female respondents who had previously had sexual intercourse, 83% said that they had not participated in a threesome, and 17% said that they had. Of 69 male respondents, 77% said that they had not participated in a threesome, and 23% said that they had.
