The Basics
160 female respondents and 91 male respondents
As of October 2008, there were 2,834 male undergraduates and 3,040 female undergraduates , a ratio of about 48% to 52%. I realized the first day of my survey that I was only talking to guys. I immediately changed this, and ended up with a ridiculously disproportionate ratio (64% female, 36% male). To make up for this, I split almost all following sections into male / female charts, and to only combine the two when the differences between responses given were not very significant. Also, in most graphs, I graph by percent and not by number of respondents.
28% of the female respondents were freshmen, 45% were sophomores, 15% were juniors, 11% were seniors, and 1% were graduate students or alum
Also horribly biased – I was a sophomore, as were too many of my respondents.
19% of the male respondents were freshmen, 45% were sophomores, 15% were juniors, 19% were seniors, and 2% were graduate students or alum.
86% (135) of 156 females who disclosed their sexual preference identified as straight, and 14% (23) identified as bisexual, gay, lesbian, queer, or other. 78% (72) of 92 men identified as straight, and 22% (20) identified as gay, bisexual, or queer.
