The Survey
Disclaimer: I did a very nonscientific survey last year (April 2009) concerning sexual activity at Brown for the AMCV class Sex Acts: The Cultural Logistics of Intimacy in America. The BDH’s ‘how many sexual partners have you had this past year’ wasn’t really cutting it for me .. what is a sexual partner? Why was the NYTimes bemoaning this ‘hookup culture’ when it seemed that everyone I knew was either married off or complaining of the lack of sex? So I wrote a survey with a lot of questions, and to thank everyone who took the time to fill these out, I am posting the results here. I will try to explain why I asked certain questions, but will leave most of the analysis I wrote for the final paper out. (Feel free to email sexatbrown @ gmail.com with any questions / comments / complaints.) There are tons of problems which I will touch on concerning accuracy. I have never taken a stats class, and I post these results because about 3.5 people have asked to see them, and not to try and prove anything.
